A Question From Andy:

My only thought to your quote is as captain of the ship what will you do that affects the fate of our town. You have never answered one question about your objectives if elected. All I ask is what do you intend to do. Just one specific concrete goal you expect to accomplish. Platitudes are not goals nor are quotes using other peoples words. As you know I share all my Emails with anyone who is interested. This one is no exception.

An Answer From Carolene:

“I plan to bring a habit of providing a public means of inviting citizens to the table to discuss a range of public issues or problems. Thus, embedding a practice of linking the public through their organizations or as private citizens in ways that affect the decisions, resources, or policies of our community.”

“I will work on the economic future by encouraging business growth and local jobs; collaborate on issues that impact education from K through 12, and higher education; build consensus on environmental issues ranging from preservation of water resources to preservation of the rural lifestyle many of us sought by moving here.”

A couple of quotes I received seem very appropriate in response to your email –

“There will be a time when loud-mouthed, incompetent people seem to be getting the best of you. When that happens, you only have to be patient and wait for them to self-destruct. It never fails.” — Richard Rybolt

And, for those that question my values:
“I am the master of my fate – I am the captain of my soul” – Nelson Mandela
